Two short-term visiting professorships are part of a program designed to expose students to the best of recent scholarship on historical American art. A twelve-week professorship is available in the Spring academic term of either 2011-2012 or 2012-2013: the professor will give one full-term course that is integrated with The Courtauld Institute of Art's curriculum and will participate in other scholarly activities. A one-week intensive study professorship is also available for either 2011-2012 or 2012-2013, in the alternate year to the twelve-week professorship. Stipends will be determined by the seniority of the scholars. For more information, please contact Dr. Caroline Arscott at researchforum@courtauld.ac.uk or visit the website.
These eight-week visiting professorships at the Institut National d'Histoire de l'Art are focused on the history of American art and transatlantic exchange and are shared between the departments of art history and American studies at the École Normale Supérieure, the Université Paris Ouest Nanterre La Défense, and the Université de Tours. Visiting professors will give lectures and seminars that build on existing curricula and will participate in workshops, conferences, and other scholarly gatherings organized by the host universities. One visiting professorship is available for each academic year: 2011–2012 and 2012–2013. The stipend for an eight-week professorship is $30,000, including travel and lodging.
