The above deadline is for consideration at the November 2013 meeting (with funding beginning as early as December). Hard-copy submission required in addition to electronic, arriving (NOT postmarked) by 28 June 2013.

Applications for research projects and research scholarships can be made in connection with the research grant programme.
Support is primarily provided for the historical humanities, in particular to support research projects in the following fields:
- Archaeology
- Art History
- Historical Islamic Studies
- History
- History of Law
- History of Science
- Prehistory and Early History
Type and scope of the funding
The grants for research projects involve, depending on the type of project, the assumption of costs for personnel, travel, materials and/or other costs.
Application documents
The following forms are to be attached to an application for financial support for a research project:
- printout of the completed electronic form
- description of the project (max. 8-10 pages - please do not submit more)
- time schedule, travel itinerary (if needed)
- detailed cost calculation (the specific funds being applied for must be precisely defined). The Foundation can't cover any college or tuition fees.
- curriculum vitae and publications of the applicant(s)
- academic certificates of the participant(s) of the project (examinations, Masters, PhD, professorship, etc.)
Additionally for applications for financing for your own post at a research establishment:
- academic certificates of the applicant (examinations, Masters, PhD, professorship, etc.)
- statement by the research establishment accepting the posting that it undertakes, for the duration of the project, to act as employer, and to make a place of work available.
After having sent the electronic application form, we kindly ask you to send us a printout of the completed application form along with the other documents by mail.
