Grants for Activities Aimed at Introducing and Promoting Catalan Literature and Scholarly Works Abroad

The Institut Ramon Llull awards grants for activities aimed at introducing and promoting Catalan literature abroad and taking place during the grant-award year.

Types of Activities

1. Events organized outside of Catalan-speaking areas to introduce Catalan literature and scholarly pieces, and present new translations of works originally written in Catalan, to audiences abroad. These activities include: book fairs, literary activities organized within the context of cultural expositions, book presentations, and promotional activity for newly translated works. Excluded are academic programs within the university context, web pages and other Internet-related projects organized by entities based in Catalan-speaking areas.
2. Monographic pieces on Catalan literary and scholarly works targeted to literary or scholarly journals circulated outside of Catalan-speaking areas.
3. Translation and preparation of excerpts from Catalan literature and scholarly works originally written in Catalan, published in booklet form for circulation abroad.
